Ukrainian Armed Forces showcase border reinforcements with Belarus
Ukraine continues to strengthen its border with Belarus, particularly in the Chernihiv region, according to the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Naev.
"Today, the situation in the Chernihiv region, as well as in the entire Northern Operational Zone, is stable and under control," Naev writes.
According to the commander, the frontiers and positions of the first and second lines of defense are being equipped in the most dangerous areas.
"We are preparing for resistance and, together with the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, are taking measures to strengthen our defense," Naev says.
According to him, if the threat grows, additional forces will arrive at the prepared lines, and Ukrainian soldiers will be ready to respond adequately to any development of the situation.
Belarus' role in Russia's war against Ukraine and the situation on the border
As a reminder, Belarus is helping Russia in its war against Ukraine. Back at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine from the territory of Belarus. At the same time, the enemy captured parts of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions. Later, Ukrainian soldiers de-occupied more territory.
The Russians also used Belarus to launch missile strikes against Ukraine.
In addition, the so-called Russian-Belarusian exercises allow Moscow to keep its troops in Belarus.
Earlier, State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said that the situation on the border with Belarus remained under control: there were no attempts to infiltrate the subversive group or escalate the situation.
At the same time, border guards continue to strengthen Ukraine's border with Belarus, setting up various types of barriers.
Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Naev emphasizes that the Ukrainian military is monitoring the border with Belarus and is ready to respond quickly in case of a threat.
