Belarus is once again assessing the readiness of its troops. As a result, Ukrainian defenders have strengthened security on the border, according to the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhii Naiev.

As noted by the commander, Belarus had initiated another stage of assessing the combat readiness of its army. In response to this, Ukrainian border guards had increased their surveillance.

"We also maintain the necessary forces and means in readiness for an adequate response, which are currently sufficient to fulfill these tasks," Naiev stated.

He added that in case of a threat, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would redeploy forces and assets to the relevant areas.

Belarus sides with Russia in the war against Ukraine

Belarus is assisting Russia in the war against Ukraine from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. In February 2022, Russian equipment entered Ukraine from Belarusian territory.

Furthermore, Russia has announced plans to station its nuclear weapons in Belarus, and Russian troops are deployed on Belarusian training grounds. As a result, Ukrainian military forces continue to strengthen their border security.
