Ukrainian Armed Forces regain positions near Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia

Ukrainian troops regained a number of positions near the town of Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region. This was possible due to the fact that the Ukrainian Defense Forces use maneuverable defense and counterattack the Russian troops, says Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
According to the spokesman, Ukrainian units lure Russians into traps and then counterattack. In this way, they managed to regain some of their previously lost positions.
"I do not want to disclose much information, but what we have is that we have regained certain positions in some areas. In particular, near Orikhiv, where our units are operating quite successfully. We have regained some positions, not many of them, but we are not only trying to hold the territory steadily, but also to conduct counterattacks, small counteroffensives, and we are having success," Voloshyn said.
Russians have become more active in East of Ukraine
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 177 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline on July 18. Russian troops continue to attempt breakthroughs in various directions, actively using aviation, drones, and artillery. Among other things, Russia has intensified its efforts in the East.
Over the past day, Russia lost 1,120 troops in Ukraine. The total losses of the Russian occupiers since February 24, 2022, amounted to about 1,040,950 personnel.
