Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands will finance the transfer of American weapons to Ukraine worth more than $1 billion, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce says during a briefing on August 5.

According to her, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden have announced their decision to finance an additional package of American weapons for Ukraine worth $500 million.

She recalls that on August 4, the Netherlands agreed to pay for the delivery of the first package of American weapons and ammunition worth over €500 million. Among them are interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

"Together, these deliveries total over 1 billion of lifesaving, top-of-the-line American equipment thaas noted by Ambassador Whitaker, will allow Ukraine to, quote, "protect critical infrastructure and civilian lives while also staying in the fight until a lasting ceasefire happens," the US State Department spokesperson says.

Military aid for Ukraine

US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker announced that several European countries will allocate funds for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine soon.

The United States will provide Ukraine with military aid worth over $200 million.

In mid-July, US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement had been reached with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the supply of American weapons to Ukraine. All weapons will be paid for by European countries.
