Ukraine to receive €1.3 billion in 2025 to scale up domestic arms production

Ukraine will receive €1.3 billion under the Danish model for weapons production in 2025. Part of these funds will come from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets, the Defense Ministry of Ukraine says.
During a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense in the Ramstein format, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov discussed the Danish model with his Danish counterpart, Troels Lund Poulsen.
The two ministers agreed to transfer the first tranche of €428 million from Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and Iceland. The funds will be transferred shortly and will be used to produce Ukrainian weapons: artillery, attack drones, missiles, and anti-tank weapons.
"In total, defense support for Ukraine under the Danish model is expected to reach €1.3 billion in 2025. A portion of the funds will be derived from the profits generated by frozen russian assets," the Defense Ministry said.
Umerov added that new strategic decisions are also being prepared regarding investments by Ukrainian companies in Ramstein countries and the deployment of European defense companies' production facilities in Ukraine.
Weapons for Ukraine
The Danish model was created to provide Ukraine with weapons of its own production by attracting investments from partners. Allies, on the other hand, will have access to Ukrainian technologies.
A new meeting in the Ramstein format took place on June 4. According to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, one of the topics of the meeting was the production of Ukrainian weapons in partner countries.
At the last Ramstein, the allies promised Ukraine unprecedented military support. Britain announced a record-breaking £350 million in aid for drones. Germany approved a new military aid package worth €5 billion.
The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Canada, and Sweden also provide new aid packages.
