The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Hungarian ambassador over the latest unfriendly statements from the Hungarian side, according to the Ukrainian MFA.

During a meeting with Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Antal Heizer, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mischenko emphasized that, from Ukraine's perspective, it is clear that Hungary's ruling political forces are consistently trying to draw Ukraine into their internal political struggle.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Ukraine has never interfered in the internal affairs of any country, including Hungary, and that such attempts by the Hungarian government have previously raised concerns in Kyiv.

At the same time, the ministry noted that all these "clumsy tactics" aimed at portraying Ukraine as an enemy — despite it being a nation fighting the real enemy of all Europe and the civilized world — appear both pitiful and offensive.

They emphasized that this is especially true for the Hungarian people, who, unlike certain biased politicians, are a genuinely European nation. Through volunteer efforts, they are doing everything they can to help the Ukrainian people defeat the Russian aggressor and prevent the return of Russian forces to the streets of Budapest.

Recently in Hungary, caricatures of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appeared, which Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has used as part of his anti-Ukrainian propaganda campaign.

The latest creation is a poster featuring cartoonish figures with the faces of Zelenskyy and Hungarian opposition leader Péter Magyar, accompanied by the caption: "As alike as two peas in a pod."

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Orbán's use of caricatures, calling his actions "stupid, boring, and unconvincing."
