Why this matters
The Progress Rocket Space Center is one of the key enterprises in Russia’s rocket and space industry. The company is involved in the production of Soyuz launch vehicles, which are used to place spacecraft into orbit and form Russian satellite communications constellations, including those for the Russian Armed Forces.
According to Ukrainian sources, the destruction of such facilities reduces Russia’s military and technological capabilities. Operations targeting key military facilities and enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex are ongoing.
