Russian military targets hit
The General Staff said Ukrainian forces struck an ammunition depot in Karlivka, Donetsk region. In addition, five Russian drone command posts came under attack.
They were located near the settlements of Ustynka and Zhuravlivka in Russia's Belgorod region, as well as Novoivanivka, Nove and Mali Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Separately, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian command post near Terny in the Donetsk region.

What else is known about recent Ukrainian strikes
On the night of August 16, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the Kamensky Plant in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov region, Russia.
It is important to note that Ukraine used British-made strike drones for attacks deep inside Russian territory for the first time. According to media reports, these systems have already been used for about six months to strike oil refineries and other Russian targets.
Meanwhile, Russian forces have continued attempts to advance along several sections of the front in recent days but have failed to achieve any confirmed gains.
According to US analysts, Russian forces conducted offensive operations in the northern Sumy region on August 15 and 16, but no advances were recorded in the area. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled the Russian attempts to seize additional territory.
It is worth noting that since the beginning of August, Ukrainian drones have struck 10 of Russia's 34 major oil refineries — nearly one-third of the country's large refining facilities.
