On Monday, June 29, and overnight, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck many key Russian targets, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military struck a road bridge in the Azov area of Zaporizhzhia region, as well as a railway bridge near the village of Ichki in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The results of the strikes are currently being assessed.

Russia uses these bridges to transport its soldiers, weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces also struck Russian drone command posts in the areas of Vesyolaya Lopan in the Belgorod region of Russia, Komar in the Donetsk region, and Myrne, Luhove, and Skeliok in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In addition, a Russian command and observation post in the Staromlynivka area of the Donetsk region was struck.

Consequences of strike on Slavyansk oil refinery

According to the results of an assessment of the damage inflicted on June 28 on the Russian Slavyansk oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, the destruction of four tanks with a total capacity of 35,000 m³ has been confirmed, as well as damage to nine additional tanks with a total capacity of 30,000 m³ and to oil refining equipment.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces will continue to systematically carry out measures aimed at stopping Russia's armed aggression," the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces emphasizes.

On the night of June 28, drones attacked the Slavyansk oil refinery. According to residents, several powerful explosions were heard near the facility, after which a fire broke out on its grounds.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strike on this oil refinery. He noted that Ukrainian defenders got off to a very successful start on Ukraine’s Constitution Day.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that the strike on the Slavyansk oil refinery was carried out in accordance with the objectives set by the President, as part of a 40-day operation aimed at exerting pressure on Russia.
