Ukraine slams Slovak FM over cynical remark on drones in Poland

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi responded to a statement by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár. Earlier, Blanár expressed hope that the drones which entered Poland were supposedly intended to end up in Ukraine, correspondent of RBC-Ukraine reported.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi, in response to journalists' questions regarding the statement of the Slovak minister about the night attack on Poland, commented on the situation.
"A large number of Russian drones entered Polish airspace – this is a fact of empirical reality that does not require belief. Such a massive crossing of the border by Russian drones could not have been accidental – this is an absolutely deliberate escalation by Russia. This is exactly how it is characterized in Poland and other partner countries," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson noted.
He called on the Slovak side "not to remove responsibility from Moscow with inappropriate doubts and to recognize reality as it is, and not as one would like to believe."
The spokesperson emphasized that this is the reality of Russian aggression, which threatens all of Europe and which Putin (editor's note – Russian President Vladimir Putin) is trying to expand beyond Ukraine.
"Every adequate European government should now be thinking about how to stop Russia together with Ukraine and end the war, not about how to justify Russian escalation," Tykhyi added.
According to him, to end the war it is necessary to strengthen consolidated pressure on Moscow, cut off financing of the war, strengthen Ukraine, and enhance cooperation of Ukraine's and partners' air defense capabilities to shoot down Russian drones and missiles.
He also stressed that Russia has no right to launch drones and missiles against Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, or any other country.

Yesterday, Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár, commenting on the situation with Russian drones entering Polish territory, stated that he wants to believe that the drones which fell in Poland were supposed to end up in Ukraine.
"I want to believe that the drones that penetrated Polish territory were drones that went there not to attack Poland but were supposed to end up on Ukrainian territory," he said cynically.
