Ukraine signs security agreements with Czechia and Slovenia
Ukraine has signed security agreements with Czechia and Slovenia. The signing of the documents took place in the British city of Woodstock, according to the Presidential Office.
Agreement with Czechia
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Czechia Petr Fiala signed an agreement on cooperation in security and long-term support between Ukraine and Czechia.
A significant part of the agreement is dedicated to cooperation in the military-technical field, including ammunition, weapons production, drones, and heavy equipment. The Czech Republic will assist with the supply of artillery shells and the creation of joint ventures.
The countries will continue the annual training of about 4,000 Ukrainian defenders within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM).
In the non-military sphere, Czechia will cooperate with Dnipro and the Dnipropetrovsk region for reconstruction and sustainable development, opening a diplomatic representation in Dnipro. Czechia will provide humanitarian aid for civil protection and for Ukrainians affected by the war.
Czechia supports Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO.
Agreement with Slovenia
In addition, Zelenskyy signed a security agreement with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
Slovenia has already provided Ukraine with 13 packages of military aid and intends to maintain this level of support throughout the ten-year term of the Agreement. The Republic of Slovenia also commits to meeting Ukraine's urgent needs to strengthen its security capabilities.
Slovenia will assist Ukraine in training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM) and will cooperate in finding funding sources for Ukrainian defense industry projects.
Separate sections of the document concern non-military support. In particular, Slovenia will allocate 5 million euros for humanitarian aid, economic recovery, and the "Grain from Ukraine" program.
The agreement covers deepening cooperation in the fields of information and cybersecurity, combating organized crime, intelligence, counterintelligence, and humanitarian demining. The document also confirms Slovenia's comprehensive support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO.
