Expansion of gas imports
Ukraine is already receiving liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US via infrastructure in Greece, but these volumes remain limited.
During a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Harry Theoharis, Serhii Koretskyi discussed the possibility of using the capacity of Greek ports to increase supplies.
According to analysts at ExPro, about 75 million cubic meters of gas were delivered to Ukraine via the Vertical Corridor in March alone. Supplies are carried out from the Revithoussa terminal under special discounted transportation tariffs.
Diesel supplies and logistics
Ukraine and Greece also paid particular attention to diesel supplies. Due to the destruction of domestic refineries as a result of Russian attacks, the country has become almost entirely dependent on fuel imports from Europe.
"We also discussed diesel fuel supplies, the use of the Greek fleet, and other mutually beneficial projects," Koretskyi said.
US LNG for Ukraine
In November last year, the leadership of the Ministry of Energy stated that the Naftogaz Group and the Polish company ORLEN had reached agreements on the supply of at least 300 million cubic meters of US liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The signing of the relevant memorandum took place during a ministerial meeting of the Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC). This cooperation is aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience and diversifying fuel supply routes.
