Today, November 13, Russian forces struck the industrial zone of Sumy. The attack caused a large-scale fire and heavy smoke, according to statements from the Sumy Regional Military Administration and the Sumy City Council.

"Today in the afternoon, a Russian UAV attacked the territory of one of the enterprises in the industrial area of Sumy. Materials at the production site caught fire. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," the Regional Military Administration reported.

Emergency services are currently working at the site of the strike, with rescuers extinguishing the fire and inspecting the area.

"Due to the attack, there is smoke in the city. Specialists from the Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine are already conducting air quality measurements," local residents were warned.

The Sumy City Council reported that the column of smoke seen by residents after noon was the result of an enemy drone strike.

On Wednesday, November 12, Russia struck the energy infrastructure of the Sumy region. As a result of the attack, part of Sumy was left without electricity.

Power outages worsened after the large-scale Russian attacks on energy infrastructure facilities on the night of November 8. At that time, Russia carried out a combined strike using drones and Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles.

Centrenergo (Ukrainian energy sector enterprise - ed.) reported that this strike was the most massive since the start of the full-scale war. Its thermal power plants — Zmiiv and Trypillia — completely stopped generating electricity.

On Monday, November 10, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, stated that energy workers had begun restoring the Zmiiv and Trypillia plants, but provided no further details.
