The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), together with the Ukrainian Defense Forces, struck the Kirishinaftorgsintez oil refinery and the Kirishi oil pumping station in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation. Large-scale fires broke out.

"SBU Alpha Unit fighters, together with the Ukrainian Defense Forces (Special Operations Forces and Unmanned Systems Forces), successfully struck oil infrastructure facilities in the Leningrad region of Russia. The Kirishinaftorgsintez refinery is on fire, as well as at the Kirishi oil pumping station," the statement reads.

This refinery is among the top three largest oil refineries in Russia and has a capacity of 20–21 million tons of oil per year.

The plant accounts for more than 6% of Russia’s total oil refining capacity. The refinery is one of the key facilities ensuring the supply of oil and petroleum products for export through the port of Primorsk.

"As a result of the SBU drone attack on Kirishinefteorgsintez, hits were recorded on three ABT units responsible for primary oil refining. A fire is ongoing. A tank containing petroleum products was struck on the territory of the oil pumping station," Ukrainian special service reports.

The Security Service of Ukraine emphasizes that Russia’s deep rear no longer protects its strategic facilities, as the ability of Ukrainian defenders to operate effectively at significant distances has been demonstrated repeatedly.

"Therefore, Russia must realize: no enterprise involved in supporting the war will escape the attention of the Security Service," the statement says.

Overnight, missile alerts were issued in at least 18 regions of Russia. In particular, sirens sounded for the first time in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, located 2,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
