Last night, Ukraine carried out strikes with Flamingo missiles on several Russian targets, including a defense plant in Cheboksary, reports Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, showing a video.
“Last night, combat launches of F-5 Flamingo cruise missiles were carried out as part of the Armed Forces’ Deep Strike operation against several enemy targets, including military-industrial complex facilities in Cheboksary,” the head of state said.
He noted that the Ukrainian Flamingos covered more than 1,500 kilometers. The president said that what the Russians produced at the targeted plant was used in the war against Ukraine.
“The military production facility that was targeted produced relay protection systems, automation systems, and low-voltage equipment. The plant supplied navigation components for the Russian Navy, the missile industry, aviation, and armored vehicles,” Zelenskyy said.
Our long-range sanctions continue to provide an entirely just response to Russian strikes.

The head of state emphasized that Russia must end the war and move to real diplomacy, adding that Ukraine has made its proposal clear.
Background
On the night of May 5, a missile threat was declared in at least 18 regions of Russia. For the first time, a missile threat was declared in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, located 2,000 km from the border with Ukraine.
The epicenter of the missile threat was the city of Cheboksary in Russia’s Chuvash Republic. According to OSINT analytics, the VNIIR-Progress plant was hit by missiles, after which a fire broke out.
This attack on VNIIR-Progress is not the first, but this time it was successful. The enterprise had been attacked in November last year, as well as in the summer.
After the attack, a fire broke out at the Russian plant, and its operations were suspended. More details about the attack on the plant in Chuvashia - in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
