In 2024, Ukrainian Armed Forces units inflicted more than 50 strikes on Russian forces using Neptune missiles. Most of the successful strikes were not reported to avoid revealing all the characteristics of the weapon, according to Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk.

"Last year, there were more than 50 strikes (using Neptune missiles – ed.). We do not usually disclose their use. But sometimes, when the media coverage of a case is quite serious, we can say that yes, it was us," Pletenchuk says.

He also stresses that the Neptune system has already been successfully deployed, is being used, and is producing results.

Neptune missiles in Armed Forces of Ukraine

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had successfully deployed Neptune missiles and plans to regularly use its own ballistic missiles in the future.

Back in 2023, it was reported that Ukraine was developing Long Neptune missiles. On October 1, 2024, Zelenskyy announced at the opening of the second International Forum of Circular Industries that Ukraine had developed a new ballistic missile.

And in March this year, he announced that the Long Neptune missile had been tested and successfully used in combat.

The Long Neptune RK360L missile was first shown on Ukraine's Independence Day in a video on the official account of the state portal Zbroya.

On the night of September 29, Ukrainian Neptune missiles struck the Karachevsky Elektrodetal plant in Russia's Bryansk region. The plant manufactures products for the Russian defense industry.
