The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) continues to conduct long-range operations on Russian territory, delivering significant blows to the enemy, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy said that on August 2, he received a briefing from the Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk.

"I am grateful for our special long-range operations on Russian territory. Each of them is tangible for the enemy, and our operations will continue," the Ukrainian President said.

He emphasized that Russia is dragging out the war and will therefore face just responses.

"This week, the Security Service of Ukraine took corresponding actions against those who weaken our defense. A significant Russian agent in the Air Forces was exposed, as well as a former official of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine who tried to profit from army food procurement," Zelenskyy noted.

He explained that all law enforcement agencies and everyone in a position to protect the state and Ukrainians must deliver results.

"Everyone must produce outcomes for Ukraine. For us. For the resilience of our country. For justice in Ukraine. For the protection of Ukraine. And the protection of all of us, our people," the Ukrainian President concluded.

Night strike on Russia

On the night of August 2, explosions were heard in several Russian regions. Notably loud were blasts in:

  • Lipetsk,
  • Ryazan,
  • Penza,
  • Samara region.

During the day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed hits on the Ryazan and Novokuybyshevsk oil refineries, as well as the Anna Nefteproduct fuel and lubricant depot in the Voronezh region.

The Ukrainian military said these were responses to Russian shelling of Ukrainian cities.

Meanwhile, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that the first target of the long-range drones that night was the Primorsko-Akhtarsk military airfield in Krasnodar Krai.

According to them, storage and launch sites for Shahed drones attacking Ukraine were hit.
