Ukraine's Foreign Ministry responds to Trump's envoy appointment
Ukraine positively evaluates the decision of US President-elect Donald Trump to nominate Keith Kellogg as special envoy for Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.
"Regarding General Kellogg, we welcome his nomination for this important mission," Tykhyi stated.
He clarified that Kellogg is not a "new person" for Ukraine. The Ukrainian embassy in the US has maintained close contact with him, including through expert diplomacy. A good dialogue continues with the general.
Ukrainian delegations have also met with Kellogg multiple times. He was among the special guests at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's speech at the Reagan Institute during the President’s July visit to the US.
"Of course, we look forward to working with him, even more actively. We expect interaction with him in his new role. We will cooperate and establish contact with him," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson added.
