Ukraine's Foreign Ministry on possible 30-day ceasefire: Test for Russia’s desire for peace

A potential 30-day ceasefire on the frontlines will be a global test for Russia to show whether it truly desires peace, Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, reports.
During a panel discussion at the ministerial level on the topic "The Peace Tableau: Actions and Aspiration," Sybiha stated that Ukraine is the most interested among all parties in achieving a just and lasting peace and clearly demonstrates its readiness for a temporary ceasefire.
"But this is also a global test for Russia. It's time for them to show whether they truly want peace," the Ukrainian Minister added.
According to Sybiha, following negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations, Kyiv received new opportunities to end the war this year.
"Let’s see what Russia’s response will be regarding the ceasefire regime. Ukraine has supported the US proposal for a temporary ceasefire for 30 days. We expect an unconditional agreement from the Russian side on this proposal," the Minister noted.
30-day ceasefire on frontline
During negotiations between the American and Ukrainian delegations, Kyiv supported the 30-day ceasefire regime on the frontline. A decision is now awaited from the Russian side.
The American delegation also discussed a ceasefire with Russia during its visit to Moscow. At that time, dictator Vladimir Putin began to mention "nuances."
According to Sybiha, Moscow must provide Washington with an official response regarding the 30-day ceasefire.
