Ukraine aims to end full-scale war by end of year - Foreign Minister

Ukraine wants an unconditional ceasefire but is ready to resist the enemy. Kyiv believes that the full-scale war can be ended within the current year, Firstpost reports, citing Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Commenting on the possible 30-day ceasefire, Sybiha stated that Ukraine is ready to resist if Russia does not accept the proposal currently on the table.
In particular, the Ukrainian Minister added that Kyiv believes in the end of a full-scale war in 2025 and called a possible regime of silence a big step forward towards establishing peace.
"We believe that the war will end this year - we really want the war to end this year. We are all united by this strategic goal - to achieve a fair, comprehensive, and lasting peace. Ukraine supports the US proposal for a ceasefire - temporary cessation of hostilities. We are waiting for Russia's response regarding the acceptance of an unconditional ceasefire. This would be a huge step forward to bring peace closer," Sybiha stated.
Possible 30-day ceasefire
During the March talks in Saudi Arabia, the American delegation proposed a 30-day ceasefire along the front line. Ukraine, in turn, supported the proposal.
Afterward, the American side had a conversation with the Kremlin, but when commenting on the truce, dictator Vladimir Putin began to mention "nuances."
As Sybiha noted, Russia must provide the US with an official response regarding the 30-day ceasefire.
