The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian port of Novorossiysk, through which the Kremlin exports oil and gas, overnight, according to sources.

"At night, the SBU's Alpha special forces, together with the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine, the coastal missile and artillery forces of the Navy, and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, carried out a special operation to strike the oil terminal of the seaport of Novorossiysk," the sources say.

This port is Russia's second-largest oil export center and an important logistics hub for the export of petroleum products across the Black Sea.

The attack damaged oil tankers at the berths, pipeline infrastructure, and pumping stations. A major fire is still burning at the oil terminal.

Also in Novorossiysk, hits on the positions of the S-300/400 anti-aircraft missile system on the territory of military unit 1537 have been confirmed. A powerful detonation was recorded after the strikes.

"The SBU, together with the Security and Defense Forces, continues to reduce dollar revenues to the Russian budget. Every oil refinery or oil terminal that is hit means millions of dollars less for the Kremlin's war machine. We will continue to deprive the aggressor of resources until it loses the ability to wage this war," adds an informed source in the SBU.

Attack on Novorossiysk

It was noisy in Novorossiysk last night. A fire broke out at a large oil terminal after an attack by unknown drones.

The governor of the Krasnodar region confirmed the drone attack, noting that the Russian army fought off attacks all night.

Subsequently, the media reported that oil exports had been halted in Novorossiysk following a nighttime drone attack, and that a state of emergency had been declared in the city itself after the drone attack.

The Sheshkharis oil terminal in the port of Novorossiysk is owned by Transneft and Rosneft. It handles 35-40 large tankers per month, which corresponds to 3.5-4.5 million tons of crude oil or up to 20% of Russia's maritime exports.
