In Novorossiysk, near the port, the Sheskharis oil terminal is on fire. There was also a possible strike on a S-300/400 air defense system position, according to the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

Around midnight, local channels reported a raid by unidentified drones on Novorossiysk.

Later, information about explosions began to emerge.

A few minutes later, a Telegram channel reported a fire at Sheskharis. This is a large export oil terminal near the port of Novorossiysk, the endpoint of pipelines operated by the Russian company Transneft.

Soon after, photos and videos of the fire and the moment of the explosion began to appear.

The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the NSDC, Andrii Kovalenko, wrote about the attack on Novorossiysk on his Telegram channel. He posted a video showing the explosion and fire.

“This is the oil terminal in Novorossiysk after the strike. Meanwhile, the Russians are hitting residential buildings and energy infrastructure,” Kovalenko noted.

Later, the Telegram channel Exilenova+ and the project Cyber Boroshno geolocated the impact site in Novorossiysk. In addition to the oil terminal, the strike may have also hit the S-300/400 position at the territory of military unit 1537 of the Kuban Red Banner Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment.

Attacks on Novorossiysk

Russia relocated 14 ships to Novorossiysk following the strike on the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol in September 2023.

The city periodically experiences attacks by unidentified drones. The targets include the seaport, oil refinery, oil terminal, and power substations.

For example, on September 24, explosions were reported there. Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated that Novorossiysk allegedly suffered a terrible attack, with drones striking the city center.

The Russian forces also claimed that the office of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium was damaged during the attack.

In addition, RBC-Ukraine reported that in the Black Sea near Novorossiysk, Ukrainian forces tracked and disabled a Russian Black Sea Fleet ship.
