Ukraine's delegation already in Geneva: Senior official outlines expectations for talks with Russia

The Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Geneva, where negotiations with Russia will take place on February 17–18. The parties will address issues related to security, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.

"The Ukrainian delegation has already arrived in Geneva. Tomorrow, we begin the next round of negotiations in the trilateral format," he wrote on X.
According to the head of the Ukrainian delegation, the agenda has already been agreed upon, and the team is ready to begin work.
The Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council emphasized that Ukrainian officials are committed to constructive work and substantive meetings on security and humanitarian issues to move toward a dignified and lasting peace.
Ukraine–Russia talks
Geneva will host the third round of talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States. Previously, the parties met twice in Abu Dhabi.
The Ukrainian delegation, which includes Rustem Umerov and Presidential Office head Kyrylo Budanov, plans to raise the issue of an energy ceasefire.
The Russian side, represented in Geneva by Vladimir Medinsky, has announced plans to discuss territorial issues within the framework of the so-called Anchorage formula — freezing the frontline and maintaining Russian control over Donbas.
