Ukraine's army chief reveals number of Russian artillery systems destroyed in 2024

In 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 13,000 enemy artillery systems. As a result, Russian forces have lost their dominance in artillery on the frontline in Ukraine, according to the Telegram channel of Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
According to him, one of the key priorities of the defensive operation is the destruction of enemy artillery.
"Just in 2024, 13,000 enemy artillery systems have been hit. This is more than in the previous two years of full-scale invasion combined," he stated.
Overall, Syrskyi reported that Russian forces have lost nearly 23,000 artillery systems to date, in addition to 1,269 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) neutralized.
"The effective counter-battery work of Ukrainian artillery and the large-scale use of drone units have effectively nullified the initial dominance of Russian occupiers' artillery on the battlefield," the general added.
Russian losses in Ukraine
The Russian army is suffering significant losses in Ukraine. Recently, reports indicated that Russia is forming assault groups from wounded soldiers who have been prematurely sent back to the battlefield.
As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently stated, Ukraine's losses in the war are significantly lower than Russia's. In particular, the ratio of wounded soldiers stands at one to two. Previously, while assessing Russian losses, the president noted that Russia's casualties in November and December 2024 reached record levels.
