On the night of August 8, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed strike drones. Ukraine’s Air Force shared footage of the country’s air defense in action in the Odesa region, according to the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the report, 12 enemy Shahed-type strike drones were shot down in the Odesa region on the night of August 8 by mobile fire groups of the air defense missile brigade of the Pivden Air Command.

Attack on Ukraine on August 8

Explosions were heard in Odesa last night amid a threat from Shahed drones. As a result of the attack, one person was injured, there was damage, and a fire broke out.

Explosions were also reported in Kharkiv, where the city was targeted by drones. A fire erupted at a civilian facility in the Saltivskyi district following the strike.

In addition, a Shahed drone attack was recorded in Shostka, Sumy region. Although air defense forces shot down enemy drones, some destruction could not be avoided.

In total, Ukraine’s Air Force destroyed more than 80 enemy drones overnight. Most of them were Shahed drones, along with jet-powered drones and decoys.
