Explosions were heard in Odesa during an air raid alert, according to the city’s mayor, Hennadii Trukhanov.

"There are explosions in the city!" he wrote.

The mayor also urged residents of central Odesa and the Peresyp district to be especially cautious. Five minutes later, a warning was also issued for the Khadzhibey district.

At 2:18 AM Kyiv time, the Air Force reported a group of strike UAVs moving from the Black Sea toward Odesa.

At the same time, Hennadiy Trukhanov urged Odesa residents to remain in safe locations.

Late on August 7, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type strike drones from several directions, targeting the Kyiv region and Kharkiv.

Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov reported an explosion around midnight, later clarifying it was a Shahed attack in the Saltivskyi district, where a fire broke out at a civilian enterprise.
