Russia strikes Ukraine with 104 Shahed and 8 jet drones overnight

The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed over 80 Russian drones last night. Most of them were Shahed drones, as well as jet drones and simulators.
On the night of August 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with 108 air weapons:
- 104 Shahed strike drones
- various types of drone simulators
- and 8 high-speed (jet) drones.
The Russians attacked from the following directions:
- Shatalovo
- Kursk
- Bryansk
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia)
- Chauda (temporarily occupied territory of Crimea)The
Russian air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down and suppressed 82 air targets, which is more than 75% of the total number. Among those eliminated were
- 3 jet drones
- 79 Shahed-type drones
- various types of drone simulators in the north, south, east, and center of Ukraine.
Twenty-six drones were recorded hitting 10 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in eight locations.
Russian attack on Ukraine on night of August 8
On the night of August 8, explosions were heard in the Kyiv region, Kharkiv, and Odesa.
On the night of Friday, August 8, the Russian army attacked the Bucha district of the Kyiv region with drones. The Russian attack caused fires in the private sector.
At around 11:55 p.m. on August 7, explosions were heard in Kharkiv. At that time, Kharkiv was attacked by Russian Shahed drones. As a result of the Russian attack, a fire broke out at a civilian enterprise in the Saltivskyi district of the city.
On the night of August 8, Russia attacked Shostka, Sumy region, with drones. Ukrainian air defenses shot down Russian drones, but there was some damage.
