The Air Force can predict where Russian forces are likely to strike on a given day and adjust air defense operations accordingly, stated Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat.

According to Ihnat, the trajectory is determined by the enemy. However, the Air Force can predict where the enemy might attempt to strike on any given day or night.

This allows Ukrainian defenders to make specific adjustments to the organization of air defense and related operations.

The Air Force spokesperson noted that information about possible activity at Russian airfields hosting strategic aviation comes from various sources. The same applies to the Black Sea.

At the same time, Ihnat emphasized the need to remain prepared for any scenario.

"When missiles are launched, there is a certain amount of time to bring systems to readiness and repel the attack, as happened today," he said.

Russia's massive strikes on Ukraine

Russia's massive strikes against Ukraine lasted three nights in a row. The enemy has been launching a record number of drones and using missiles, covering the territory from north to south.

In particular, on the night of May 24, Russia launched a combined strike on Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and drones simultaneously. At that time, 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 attack drones were launched at Ukraine. Air defense destroyed six missiles and neutralized 245 drones.

On the night of May 25, Russian forces attacked 13 regions of Ukraine. Then the Russian army used dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as about 300 drones.

On the night of May 26, Russia launched a record number of attack drones and cruise missiles at Ukraine.
