On the night of August 17, Ukrainian forces struck Russian storage, preparation, and command-and-control sites for attack drones, as well as a command post in Crimea and the Kherson region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Last night, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck many key Russian targets:
- Hvardiiske (Crimea): A facility used for the storage, preparation, and launch of attack drones was attacked. A fire was reported on the facility's grounds
- Novofedorivka (Crimea): A ground control station for Russian Orion-type drones was struck
- Olenivka (Crimea): A ground-based relay station used to control Geran/Gerbera-type kamikaze drones was struck
- Tendrivska Spit (Kherson region): A communications and power supply node for a Russian drone relay station was struck.
"The extent of the damage is being assessed. Operations against key Russian military targets are ongoing," Ukraine's General Staff emphasizes.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces were making effective use of available resources. According to the Ministry, it costs approximately $3,000 to eliminate a single Russian soldier.
Earlier, Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) Commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi stated that Russia continued to increase the number of missile and drone attacks on Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian military is stepping up strikes on Russian military facilities and logistics centers behind Russian lines.
