Talks in Abu Dhabi

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the key issue at the Abu Dhabi meeting will be the territorial question regarding Donbas.

The Russian side has stated that without resolving territorial issues, there is no point in expecting peace in Ukraine. Russia emphasized that it will continue fighting until a settlement is reached.

Notably, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Ukrainian troops must leave the Donbas territory, calling it an "important condition of the Russian side."

Today, January 23, Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the composition of Ukraine’s delegation for the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi. The Ukrainian negotiating team will be led by RNBO Secretary Rustem Umerov.

In addition, Zelenskyy held consultations with the Ukrainian delegation in the UAE in preparation for the trilateral talks with the US and the aggressor country.

Yesterday, January 22, Zelenskyy held a "positive meeting" with US President Donald Trump. The meeting between the two presidents lasted slightly over an hour.

At the same time, in the Kremlin, a meeting took place between US President’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Vladimir Putin. The meeting was attended by Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov and his special representative Kirill Dmitriev. The session lasted 3.5 hours.
