Ukraine ready to share experience with NATO and strengthen joint defense, says Zelenskyy

Ukraine is ready to share its experience in shooting down enemy drones with NATO and contribute to collective defense, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy said that today he met with advisors from the leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy to thank them for supporting Ukraine and working on security guarantees.
The President emphasized that Russia not only shows no willingness to end the war but also escalates tensions and poses real threats to Europe by sending drones into Poland. Therefore, he said, it is crucial to finalize security guarantees as soon as possible.
"We also discussed our country’s readiness to share experience and contribute to NATO’s collective defense. We propose working together to intercept all Russian targets," Zelenskyy noted.
Ukraine will train Polish troops to shoot down drones
After the Russian drone attack on eastern regions of Poland on September 10, foreign ministers of the Lublin Triangle countries called on partners to urgently strengthen Ukraine’s air defense amid the escalation of the war.
President Zelensky stated that Ukraine is open to cooperation in shooting down all types of drones.
The Polish Ministry of Defense reported that planned drone defense training for Ukrainian and Polish specialists will take place in Poland. The sides are currently coordinating the format and areas of cooperation.
Today, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister announced that on September 18, a delegation of Polish military personnel will arrive in Ukraine to learn from Ukrainian defenders how to shoot down Russian drones.
NATO launches operation Eastern Sentry
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced that NATO is launching Operation Eastern Sentry to strengthen defense on Europe’s eastern flank in response to Russian drones entering Polish airspace.
According to Rutte, the mission, starting this evening, will involve various resources, including air and ground bases.
Allies, including Denmark, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany, have already committed to the mission, with others planning to join.
However, Operation Eastern Sentry does not involve integration with Ukraine’s air defense systems.
