Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed to produce 30,000 long-range drones. Ukrainian enterprises also plan to make about 3,000 missiles, according to Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

A total of UAH 2 trillion 230 billion has been allocated for defense and security in 2025. Taxpayers' funds from the state budget will be used for these purposes. Spending on weapons and military equipment will amount to at least UAH 739 billion.

According to Shmyhal, Ukrainian defense companies plan to increase their production capacity to $30 billion. As part of the Weapons of Victory project, the government will launch long-term contracts with manufacturers for 3-5 years.

“We will pay special attention to the long-range component and the missile program. The task from the President of Ukraine is to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones. Ukrainian enterprises also plan to produce about 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles,” Shmyhal said.

Ukraine will also develop the Danish model, meaning partners buy weapons from the domestic defense industry for the needs of the Ukrainian army. By 2025, it is expected to raise more than $1 billion.

Weapons production in Ukraine

During the full-scale war, Ukraine increased its production of weapons - drones of various types, ammunition, missiles, armored vehicles, etc.

Ukraine is not only building up the capabilities of its own defense industry but also cooperating with allies to produce weapons. Joint arms production facilities are being launched in partner countries.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Denmark, France, and Lithuania have allocated 150 million euros for weapons production in Ukraine.

Ukraine also developed new types of weapons - maritime drones and new domestic missiles. In 2024, it became known that Ukraine had developed the Palianytsia drone missile.
