Ukraine launches new cooperation format with Benelux countries

Ukraine, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg will cooperate within a new diplomatic framework called Ukraine–Benelux, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Sybiha noted that the first ministerial-level meeting within the Ukraine–Benelux format will take place in the near future.
"It is very important that our diplomacy reflects Ukraine's new place in the world — a country respected for its strength and determination. We are not waiting for invitations. We are creating equal partnerships and initiatives. We are offering solutions and inviting others to move forward with us," he emphasized.
Sybiha also added that Ukraine has already established several other cooperation formats with different countries, including:
- Ukraine–South-Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania);
- Ukraine–Nordic-Baltic Eight (Ukraine, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden);
- Ukraine–Romania–Moldova;
- Lublin Triangle (Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania);
- Weimar+ (France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine).
New support for Ukraine
Just last week, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp announced that the Netherlands is allocating €300 million for Ukraine's recovery.
The funds are expected to be directed in particular toward the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
