Yesterday, Iran conducted a missile attack against Israel. Ukraine firmly condemns these strikes, as civilians should never be targets of deadly attacks, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the massive Iranian missile attack against Israel on the evening of October 1, 2024... We once again urge all parties in the Middle Eastern confrontation to prevent the escalation of the conflict into a full-scale war, the consequences of which would be catastrophic not only for the people in the region but for the entire world," the ministry noted.

At the same time, the Ministry pointed out that Ukraine, which has been resisting unprovoked armed aggression for over two and a half years, is facing not only the aggressor state of Russia but also its accomplices, including Iran, which supplies weapons to the Russian regime for the war against Ukraine.

"We condemn the actions of the Iranian regime, which destabilize two regions: Europe and the Middle East. We support the operational actions of Israel's allies and partners who have taken preventive measures to minimize the negative consequences of missile strikes on Israeli territory from Iran," the ministry added.

Situation in the Middle East

For several months now, tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have been escalating day by day.

Last week, the IDF carried out a massive airstrike on Lebanese territory, resulting in the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. At that time, Iran promised a response, and already on the night of October 2, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that on October 1, the IDF began ground raids in southern Lebanon.
