Israel announced elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. He was killed in an airstrike on the capital of Lebanon, according to the IDF press service.
According to Israeli sources, Nasrallah was eliminated along with Hezbollah's southern front commander Ali Karki and other commanders in Beirut on September 27.
"Following precise intelligence from the IDF and Israeli security establishment, IAF fighter jets conducted a targeted strike on the Central Headquarters of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, which was located underground embedded under a residential building in the area of Dahieh in Beirut," the statement said.
The IDF noted that the strike occurred while the senior leadership of Hezbollah was gathered at the headquarters.
Israel clarified that Hassan Nasrallah was the primary decision-maker for Hezbollah and a strategic leader of the organization.
