Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has been unreachable following Israeli strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday evening, reports Reuters.

This information was obtained by the agency from a source close to the Lebanese armed group.

Several hours after the strikes, Hezbollah had not made any statements regarding the fate of its leader. A source affiliated with the organization told Reuters that Nasrallah is alive. The Iranian news agency Tasnim also reported that he is safe.

A high-ranking Iranian security official informed Reuters that Tehran is verifying his status.

On September 27, Israeli forces struck the Lebanese capital, Beirut, targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The attack was directed at an underground bunker where the organization's leaders convene. It remains uncertain whether Nasrallah is alive.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in New York for the UN General Assembly. In his speech there, he stated that in the event of an Iranian attack on Israel, the IDF would retaliate.

The Telegraph reported that Netanyahu traveled to the US partly to make Nasrallah believe he is safe.
