Ukraine holds talks in Paris with Coalition of the Willing: First details

The Ukrainian delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Coalition of the Willing countries in Paris. The main topics of the negotiations were the ceasefire and security guarantees, the Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reports.
The meeting took place at the Élysée Palace. Ukraine was represented at the meeting by the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov.
At the negotiations, the "Coalition of the Willing" was represented by officials from the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, namely:
- Diplomatic Advisor to the President of France Emmanuel Bonne,
- National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Jonathan Powell,
- Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor of Germany Jens Plötner.
As noted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, during the negotiations, the parties discussed, in particular, the ceasefire and security guarantees for Ukraine.
"We exchanged views on further steps to achieve a just and sustainable peace, including the implementation of a full ceasefire, the involvement of a multinational military contingent, as well as the development of an effective security architecture for Ukraine," Yermak specified.

The Head of the Presidential Office called the meeting in Paris "a very substantive conversation."
After the meeting, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov emphasized that work on security guarantees together with partners is ongoing. According to him, Ukraine's priority is an outcome that will guarantee reliable peace.
Negotiations in Paris
On Thursday, April 17, the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, and Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov arrived in the capital of France for negotiations.
As the Ukrainian delegation reported, negotiations are planned in Paris with representatives of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. These countries are members of the Coalition of the Willing, whose goal is to ensure peace in Ukraine after the end of the war. The Ukrainian delegation is also set to meet with representatives of the United States, who are currently in Paris.
The day before, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in France, as well as the US President's Special Envoy for the Middle East and participant in the negotiation process regarding the war in Ukraine, Steve Witkoff.
