Ukraine getting more partner support after Trump's ceasefire deadline for Russia – Zelenskyy

Ukraine is receiving a lot of support from partners under the new conditions, as US President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Russia, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address.
Zelenskyy reported on the results of intensive negotiations with partners to develop a joint position for a truly real peace for Ukraine.
"And if everyone perceives opportunities and threats in the same way, then it will be possible to achieve precisely a lasting peace. There is already a lot of support, and this is support under the new conditions, when a deadline has been announced for Russia to cease fire," the president said.
Trump's ultimatum
Last month US President Donald Trump sharply criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for massive attacks on Ukraine and gave the Kremlin leader 50 days to achieve peace with Kyiv. However, he later shortened the timeframe to 10 days and set the deadline for August 8.
In case of refusal, he threatened to impose sanctions against countries that purchase Russian oil and additional sanctions against Russia.
At the same time, on August 6, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow. Trump stated that the meeting was successful.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not rule out that Russia may now be more inclined toward a ceasefire with Ukraine.
