Former US President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has 10 days to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, he made this statement during an interaction with journalists.

Trump was reminded of his previous statements about changing the timeline for when Russia must begin a ceasefire with Ukraine. In particular, the US president spoke about shortening the deadline by 10–12 days.

"10 days from today," Trump declared.

He then said that the US would impose tariffs and other measures. However, he is not sure if this will affect Russia, as it is obvious that Russia wants to continue the war.

"We're going to put on tariffs and the various things that you put on. It may or may not affect them, but it could," Trump said.

Trump’s 50-day ultimatum

Earlier, Trump threatened Russia with new sanctions if Putin did not agree to end the war against Ukraine. Initially, he gave Moscow 50 days to make the corresponding decision.

However, just yesterday, Trump announced that he had decided to change the terms of his ultimatum regarding the introduction of significant tariffs on Putin.

Later, he clarified that the Kremlin leader now has 10–12 days left. Trump also mentioned that he is considering not only secondary tariffs but also secondary sanctions against Russia.
