Zelenskyy approves new long-range strike targets in Russia

The president held a meeting with Ukraine's top commanders to discuss the country's long-range strikes against Russia. Following the meeting, officials updated the list of priority targets and approved the continuation of the operations, according to a statement by Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state says Ukraine's long-range strike campaign is proceeding in line with its established priorities. The country's strike range has now exceeded 3,000 km, and Ukraine is continuing to expand its ability to hit targets even farther away.
"The strategic depth of the rear, which for a long time was one of Russia's key advantages, is now becoming a serious problem for their political and military leadership, as the majority of the country's air defense systems are concentrated around Moscow, state residences, the Crimean Bridge, and St. Petersburg," Zelenskyy said.

He added that Ukrainian drones are already reaching targets in the Ural region, Siberia, and other areas far from Moscow.
The president said that since the launch of the long-range strike campaign, Ukrainian forces have carried out more than 1,000 strike missions this year alone.
Ukrainian strikes have hit oil facilities, critical military production sites, and strategically important elements of Russia's logistics.
Updated priorities
Following the meeting, Zelenskyy approved the continuation of the operations and updated the list of priority targets. The key criterion is their real impact on Russia and its ability to continue the war.
"The main goal is for our long-range pressure to push Russia further toward diplomacy by disrupting the production of weapons components, inflicting losses on its oil industry and broader economy, and bringing this war back to its own doorstep," the president said.
Message to Moscow and partners
Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine has already presented Russia's political leadership with all the necessary proposals to end the war through a dignified peace.
"All our partners know what is needed. Our precision is effectively helping create the conditions for real diplomacy," he added.
As previously reported, Ukraine's long-range strikes have already paralyzed about 20% of Russia's oil refining capacity. The large-scale attacks are overwhelming Russian air defenses, while strikes on Moscow and occupied Crimea have inflicted the greatest political damage on the Kremlin.
In early July, Zelenskyy said there was no longer a single Russian oil refinery that had not been targeted by Ukrainian weapons.
That same month, Ukrainian drones reached Siberia, striking an oil refinery in Omsk nearly 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border.
Just days ago, President Zelenskyy also said that over the next two years, the range of Ukrainian drones is expected to increase from 3,000 to 10,000 km. He added that drones with a strike range of 4,000 km will enter the Defense Forces' arsenal later this year.
