There are no oil refineries left in Russia that have not been attacked by Ukrainian weapons, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The head of state emphasized that this week, the Ukrainian military achieved important results in applying long-range sanctions against Russian facilities supporting the enemy’s aggression.
“Ukrainian drones reached Siberia and struck the oil refinery in Omsk – nearly 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine. Now, no Russian oil refinery is beyond the reach of Ukrainian weapons,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The president noted that Ukraine struck Russian oil facilities in the Saratov, Rostov, Tver, Stavropol, and Krasnodar regions, as well as in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.
“An airfield in the Voronezh region and a strategic enterprise in Tver were hit. Drones were also used against facilities in the Moscow, Leningrad, and Bryansk regions,” he said.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine’s "long-range sanctions plan against Russia is firmly on track.”
Serious problems with gasoline supplies in Russia began after a series of Ukrainian strikes on its oil refineries. As the Financial Times notes, Ukrainian drones are striking Russian energy infrastructure at an unprecedented pace.
Gasoline production in the aggressor country covers only about 65% of seasonal demand. As a result of the Ukrainian strikes, Russia’s largest oil refineries have been shut down.
