Ukraine has created its own glide bomb. It is already ready for combat use, says Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s defense minister.
Developed over 17 months
A participant of the Brave1 defense hub created the first Ukrainian glide bomb. The development took 17 months.
This is not an adapted foreign or Soviet weapon — it is an original design by Ukrainian engineers created specifically for the realities of the current war.
The bomb is intended to strike fortifications, command posts, and other enemy targets.

Key characteristics
- Warhead weight — 250 kg.
- Capable of hitting targets dozens of kilometers after launch.
- Unique design developed from scratch by Ukrainian specialists.
The Defense Ministry has already purchased the first experimental batch. "Pilots are currently rehearsing combat scenarios and adapting the new weapon system for use in real wartime conditions,” Fedorov said.
According to Fedorov, Ukrainian glide bombs will soon begin striking enemy targets. Production is expected to be scaled up.
Ukraine is consistently moving from purchasing individual solutions to creating its own high-tech weapons.
Ukraine is already producing three Flamingo missiles per day, and output will increase after switching to a domestically produced engine, depending on orders.
Ukraine and Germany launched the joint Brave Germany program to develop defense technologies and support military startups.
