Operators of the 129th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian Solntsepyok system near Dvorichna in the Kharkiv region. Despite EW protection, the drone caused a powerful detonation, the 16th Army Corps said, releasing the corresponding video.
On the morning of April 4, in the Kharkiv direction, UAV operators of the 129th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a competent operation. They destroyed the heavy flamethrower system Solntsepyok — a weapon the enemy considers one of its greatest advantages on the battlefield.
In the area of the settlement of Dvorichna, kamikaze drones tracked down the Solntsepyok, which was preparing to shell Ukrainian positions.
The military noted that such systems are usually under enhanced cover of electronic warfare (EW) means, which are supposed to “blind” Ukrainian drones. However, the skill of Ukrainian pilots made it possible to overcome all obstacles and deliver a precise strike directly into the system’s ammunition.
The result of the hit was so powerful that the explosion of thermobaric shells was visible many kilometers from the epicenter. A huge column of fire and smoke confirmed the complete destruction of the equipment along with the crew.
“The result is another eliminated unit of the enemy’s heavy equipment. Under the first rays of the spring sun, the Russian Solntsepyok turned into a pile of scrap metal,” the 16th Army Corps commented on the success.
The TOS-1A Solntsepyok is an extremely dangerous system that uses unguided rockets with a thermobaric mixture. The explosion of such a rocket creates a cloud of fire and a sharp pressure drop that burns out everything alive within the affected radius.
Each destruction of such a system makes the work of Ukrainian infantry easier and saves the lives of fighters on the front line.
On April 3, the General Staff reported precise strikes on Russian rear areas. Warehouses of materiel were destroyed in the areas of the village of Staromlynivka in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region, the settlement of Valianivske in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, and the villages of Chervone Pole and Zoriane in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
On March 10, Ukrainian defenders struck a Russian military plant in Bryansk. It produced control systems for all types of Russian missiles.
