Countries that reacted to the fake attack on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin should also condemn the nighttime massive strike on Ukraine, states Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a conversation with journalists.
He said that Kyiv is awaiting an official reaction from Qatar to the Russian terrorist strike that took place last night, January 9.
In addition, Ukraine seeks responses not only from the Qatari side but also from those countries that recently condemned the "alleged attack by the Ukrainian side on Putin’s alleged residence."
"There was no such strike, yet there was a reaction. Now we expect those countries that shamefully responded to this pseudo-incident to condemn today’s terrorist act," Sybiha’s statement reads.
Massive attack on Ukraine on January 9
The nighttime attack on Kyiv began with a massive strike using kamikaze drones, after which the enemy hit the city with Kalibr cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
In total, 19 apartment buildings in the city were damaged. The Qatari embassy was also hit. As a result of Russia’s attack on Kyiv, 25 people were injured, and four more were killed.
Currently, 417,000 families in Kyiv are temporarily without power. Residents in parts of the Desnianskyi, Dnipro, Darnytskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts remain without electricity.
In addition, Russia attacked the Lviv region with a medium-range ballistic missile. According to the Zakhid Air Command, the target’s speed reached 13,000 km/h.
The Russian regime confirmed the launch of a ballistic missile at Lviv. At the same time, Russia referenced the fake claim of an alleged "attack on Putin’s residence" to justify its latest terrorist act.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that Ukraine is demanding an urgent UN Security Council meeting in response to the Oreshnik strike on the Lviv region. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that the use of ballistic missiles against civilian regions represents a new level of escalation, to which the world must respond immediately.
