Since the beginning of 2024, Russian air bases and military airfields have been attacked by Ukraine at least 40 times. Most of the attacks on Russian military targets were the result of successful operations of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, according to the Molfar OSINT agency.

From March to August this year, the Ukrainian military carried out 35 attacks on Russian air bases. Another 5 attacks were carried out on Russian military airfields in Crimea.

According to the study, most of these attacks (32%) were carried out by kamikaze drones of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

15% of the attacks were planned and carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine, 10% by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, 9% by the Special Operations Forces, and 7% by the Ukrainian Navy.

The study reports that approximately 1/5 of the attacks on Russian aviation infrastructure were carried out by unknown forces or units.

Molfar OSINT agency

Molfar is a Ukrainian community of OSINT specialists. It currently consists of 35 analysts and more than 200 volunteers. One of the main tasks of the agency is to identify war criminals, refute Russian propaganda, and investigate war crimes.

OSINT specialists are also collecting an archive of events from Russia's full-scale war and developing a list of entities unfriendly to Ukraine.

With the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Molfar team joined the Ukrainian cyber resistance.

Satellite images of the aftermath of the strike on the Russian airfield Marinovka appeared. It was the only such facility that had airplane shelters.

Recently, the Russian airfield Olenya was also attacked. In addition, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine was able to successfully attack the Savasleyka airfield.

On August 14, Ukraine carried out its largest attack on Russian airfields.
