On the night of August 22, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces attacked the Marinovka airfield in the Volgograd region of Russia. Satellite imagery of the aftermath of the attack was posted online by OSINT researcher MT Anderson.

The satellite images show serious damage to the airfield and destroyed hangars that could have housed Russian aircraft.

Attack on Russia's Marinovka airfield

On the night of August 22, explosions were heard in the Volgograd region of Russia. Russians complained of a drone attack. The network reported a fire at the Marinovka airfield.

Later, RBC-Ukraine sources reported that the Security Service of Ukraine and Ukraine's Special Operations Forces attacked the Marinovka airfield in the Volgograd region of Russia. The warehouses with guided aerial bombs and fuel were attacked there. A fire broke out at the airbase, and there was also a detonation.

The satellites recorded three fire centers on the territory of the airfield. One of them was on the site where Russian aircraft could have been parked.

Marinovka airfield is the only airfield in Russia where aircraft shelters have been built.
