Ukraine aims to launch its own air defense system production, and relevant specialists will come to the country, as Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak says at a meeting with journalists.
"There is a very fundamental decision that we will start implementing very soon. Specialists will soon arrive to develop a plan for our own production of everything we need, especially air defense means," he said.
Production of weapons in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has significantly increased the production of its own weaponry.
In particular, drones and ammunition are now being manufactured within the country.
As Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin pointed out, from January to July 2023, Ukraine produced ten times more ammunition than in 2022.
There are also plans to open a Kyiv-based production between German arms conglomerate Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom state-owned defense company.
