The United Kingdom has imposed new sanctions against individuals and organizations involved in the forced deportation and ideological indoctrination of Ukrainian children.

The list includes Ramzan Kadyrov's mother, Aymani Kadyrova, and the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, which organizes re-education and militarization camps for children. In total, the sanctions affected eight individuals and three organizations associated with the Kremlin.

On September 3, sanctions were imposed on:

  • Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Leila Fazleeva,
  • Head of the Federal Teenage Center, Valeria Mayorova,
  • Commander of the Special Purpose Police Regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Chechen Republic, Zamid Chalaev,
  • Minister for Youth Affairs of Tatarstan Rinat Sadikov,
  • Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Child Protection of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Anastasia Akkuratova,
  • Heads of the Kherson Humanitarian Headquarters To Children - Into Their Hands Natalia Tishchenko and Alexandra Gurova.

According to British intelligence, Russia has deported more than 19,500 Ukrainian children, of whom about 6,000 are being held in camps where they are subjected to propaganda and military training.

London has called for the unconditional return of all deported children and promised to increase pressure on the Russian authorities.

Russia's abduction of Ukrainian children

During the full-scale war, Russia is abducting Ukrainian children en masse from the occupied territories.

Earlier, Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported that Russia had deported more than 19,000 children from Ukraine. According to him, there is also a risk of deportation for 1.5 million children who are in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Minors are taken from orphanages, hospitals, and boarding schools or separated from their families during so-called аiltration procedures, after which they are sent to various regions of Russia, including Siberia and the Far East.

There, they are often adopted by Russian families and forcibly granted Russian citizenship.

Meanwhile, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has threatened that if Russia does not return all the abducted Ukrainian children, he will push forward a bill to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
