UK promises new aid to Ukraine: How funds will be used

The United Kingdom will provide nearly £25 million (around €29 million) to support Ukrainian organizations assisting vulnerable groups affected by the full-scale war.
Specifically, £10 million will be allocated to the HAVEN humanitarian project coalition, with the funds directed toward the protection and evacuation of Ukrainians living in frontline areas.
An additional £5 million will go to the Mercy Corps international humanitarian organization to help Ukrainians cope with the consequences of the war.
Another £9.4 million will be provided to support the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The remaining funds will be used to improve rehabilitation centers, including those for veterans.
UK support for Ukraine
The United Kingdom has become one of Ukraine’s key allies since the start of the full-scale war in 2022.
Over this period, London has provided substantial military assistance, including Challenger 2 tanks, long-range Storm Shadow missiles, artillery, air defense systems, and training for Ukrainian troops.
The UK has also strongly supported sanctions against Russia and offered significant financial aid to Ukraine. Notably, at the end of February 2025, the UK announced its largest aid package for Ukraine, worth £4.5 billion ($5.69 billion).
Later, the UK transferred nearly $1 billion to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets. This tranche was the second of three planned payments totaling £2.26 billion. The first was made on March 6 and amounted to £752 million. The remaining funds are expected to be disbursed in 2026.
