UK consults Ukraine on upcoming talks with US - The Times

The UK is working to convince US President Donald Trump to resume intelligence sharing with Ukraine. This is especially important amid the escalation of hostilities, reports The Times.
The United Kingdom is seeking to convince Donald Trump to resume intelligence sharing with Ukraine, even if Elon Musk threatens to cut off the Starlink satellite connection. This issue has become critical amid escalating hostilities and active negotiations between Kyiv and Washington.
National Security Advisor to Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Jonathan Powell, visited Ukraine over the weekend to prepare the Ukrainian side for a meeting with US representatives. Britain is seeking to prevent a repeat of diplomatic scandals in dealing with Trump and strengthen support for Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister is also holding talks with European leaders on the need to resume intelligence cooperation with Ukraine. France and NATO have already expressed support for this initiative.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia had carried out hundreds of attacks on Ukraine over the past week, using aircraft bombs, drones, and missiles. He emphasized the critical importance of international support in air defense, sanctions pressure, and defense production.
Intelligence sharing
Trump has indicated in his statements that he is considering lifting the pause in intelligence sharing, as well as new economic measures against Russia. At the same time, he expressed skepticism about Ukraine's ability to win the war even with US support.
Meanwhile, tensions arose over a statement by Elon Musk, who hinted that the Ukrainian front would suffer a serious blow if Starlink were to be cut off. Poland, which finances a significant portion of Starlink access in Ukraine, has already stated that it may look for alternative suppliers.
The situation is expected to develop in the coming days when negotiations between Ukrainian and American representatives take place. The Ukrainian delegation at these meetings will be headed by Andriy Yermak, while Zelenskyy will travel to Saudi Arabia to meet with Mohammed bin Salman.
Pause of intelligence sharing between the US and Ukraine
The United States has suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine, as confirmed by the CIA Director. Earlier it was reported that Washington had limited the transfer of data only for strikes against Russia, but continued to provide information on the positions of the Russians.
French Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu said that France is ready to take on the role of the United States in providing intelligence to Ukraine.
According to media reports, the UK will continue to provide intelligence to Ukraine even after the exchange between Kyiv and Washington is terminated, although its capabilities will be limited compared to those of the US.
